In 2024, I was a finalist in the Siena Drone Awards, Series category for the third time. It coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Siena Awards. I decided to travel to Siena to be a part of this celebration and discovered it to be a wonderful experience. The Siena Awards celebration is the culmination of three photographic competitions--The Siena International Photographic Awards (SIPA), the Creative Photo Awards and the Drone Photo Awards. I will talk about all three competitions, some of the winning images and how the three competitions differ.
This presentation will focus on the experiences of meeting other international award winners and the immersion in Tuscan culture. You will see images of a local festival, the surrounding landscape and portraits of artisans and other people that I met. I will also talk about the variety of photographic exhibitions that were on display in conjunctions with this celebration. I will also It will be a deep dive into travel photography and a little taste of what it was like to be an international award recipient.
